A VBS Designed for Children with Special Needs

Exceptional VBS is created specifically for children with special needs who are entering Kindergarten through 5th grade (with consideration given to developmental/mental age to ensure the best classroom fit).

Throughout the week, children will explore what it means to be created in God’s image and how every part of who they are reflects His intentional design. Together, we will discover that we are known, loved, and wonderfully made—and that our lives can magnify God simply by being who He created us to be.

What Makes This VBS Exceptional?

Our program is:
  • Led by a certified teacher with a Master’s degree in Special Education
  • Supported by a trained, compassionate volunteer team
  • Designed to be safe, supportive, and engaging
  • Structured to help every child feel confident and included

We are intentional about creating an environment where each child can participate meaningfully and experience success.

The Buddy Program

We are also welcoming neurotypical children entering Kindergarten–5th grade to participate as part of our Buddy Program.
Buddies will serve alongside their peers, helping foster friendships, inclusion, and a beautiful picture of the Body of Christ working together.

Safety and support

Exceptional VBS has been developed with the guidance of experienced teachers and therapists who regularly serve children with special needs.
Our first priority is creating a safe, supportive, and comforting environment for every participant.
All volunteers are required to complete specialized training led by these professionals to ensure they are equipped to serve each child with care and confidence.
A registered nurse will also be present on campus for the full duration of VBS.

Our Registration Process

Because we want to serve each child well, all registrations are carefully reviewed after submission.
Our team prayerfully considers each application to ensure we are able to appropriately accommodate your child’s specific needs within the structure and staffing of our program. We may reach out for additional information if needed.
Our heart is to partner with families and create a meaningful, accessible VBS experience where every child feels welcomed, supported, and deeply valued.
